You can’t wear flip-flops on site
Avoid having their feet crushed at work for the following reasons:
It’s incredibly painful
Hospital food isn’t tasty enough to deserve a surprise visit to the emergency room
They don’t let you buy single pairs of shoes at the shoe store
Heavy boxes, forklift tires, and your buddy’s boot are all things you don’t want interacting with your toes while you’re at work. Keep the flip-flops at home and invest in a pair of safety shoes. No one wants a swollen pinky toe or a broken foot, protect your feet while you’re on the job site.
The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has determined at all workers that can potentially have their feet destroyed at work are required to have some form of foot protection. Safety shoes must meet the American National Standard Institute (ANSI) standard for Men's Safety-Toe Footwear, Z41.1-1967. Shoes must be able to withstand compressions and impacts that have the potential of putting you in a world of pain.
There are a variety of safety shoes to choose from such as steel-toe shoes, composite toe shoes, and aluminum toe shoes. Each safety shoe type has its own advantages so it’s best to pick one that works best for you.
Wear your safety shoes!!
